Currently, Alliant Health Group is seeking an Accounting and Finance Analyst. The Accounting and Finance Analyst collaborates with the team to complete month end close process, monthly/quarterly financial reporting and analysis, preparation of budgets that support the overall financial objectives of the business. Position requires customer service skills, initiative, and attention to detail to achieve quick turnaround times or deadlines.

In this role, the ideal candidate will do the following:

  • Performs general ledger activities including monthly close activities, and preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
  • analyzes financial results
  • Creation of forecasts, budgets
  • Performs account research and analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes
  • Monitors and reviews accounting and related system reports for completeness and accuracy
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
  • Ensures integrity of financial information in the general ledger
  • Identifies, researches and assists in the resolution and implementation of moderately-complex accounting projects
  • Prepares audit schedules as required
  • Ensures that internal and external customers are provided with timely and accurate assistance
  • Cross-trains in other areas of the finance and accounting department
  • Works on special projects and prepares ad hoc reports and analysis as needed
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Provides timely information to the business as requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this role include:

  • Knowledge and competency in accounting and financial practices and procedures
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to work independently and with a team, includes interpersonal skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; analysis and creation of spreadsheets and reports, pivot tables and v-lookup
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to communicate in verbal and written formats, including the ability to explain calculations or reports
  • Must have proven ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Must have proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Adept at actively listening to ensure understanding and achieve goals
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a changing environment
  • Demonstrate ability to build trust and collaborative relationships across the organization
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new job-related information
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and shift priorities quickly as required
  • Proven ability to work with minimal direction, as well as be resourceful and independent in solving problems
  • Ability to travel as needed via plane or automobile to meetings or other events

Education, experience and training required and preferred for the position are below:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA preferred
  • Up to 2 years of accounting and finance experience
  • One or more years of financial analysis/planning
  • Experience with Costpoint and/or other project based General Ledger systems
