Overview

ENERCON's Federal Services team is seeking a full-time Civil Structural Engineering Supervisor for our Kennesaw, GA, FT Worth, TX, Dallas, TX, Naperville, IL, or Overland Park, KS location. This role involves leading proposal preparations, cultivating client relationships, and contributing to the team's knowledge and improvement. Responsibilities

Our team assists federal clients in addressing a diverse array of essential engineering challenges. Our expertise encompasses nuclear and non-nuclear facilities, along with associated infrastructure. We provide comprehensive services, including the design of new or replacement facilities, lifecycle management to optimize longevity and availability, and support for the decommissioning of facilities that have reached the end of their operational lifespan.

Products/Deliverables

    Act as the primary liaison for initial contact with Management, PMs, and internal stakeholders within the Engineering team.
  • Delegate tasks to the Engineering Team to ensure a balanced workload across teams.
  • Uphold the Engineering Team's quality standards by working through Lead Engineers, overseeing engineering document approval, and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to manage budgets and schedules for assigned projects.
  • Lead proposal development efforts by providing input on scope and budget to PMs.
  • Cultivate professional relationships with clients and promote the Engineering team's capabilities.

Leadership and Staff Development

  • Identify and encourage opportunities for on-site work and training.
  • Utilize the review and approval process of deliverables as a means for technical training.
  • Provide timely performance feedback and coaching to staff, promoting their professional development.
  • Support company policies and procedures and demonstrate technical leadership in resolving technical issues.

Organizational Support

  • Coordinate the allocation of engineering resources to projects through Lead Engineers.
  • Maintain staffing projections based on workload forecasts.
  • Approve timesheets and expense reports for Lead Engineers and other direct reports.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals for the Engineering team.
  • Support management in the recruitment of new employees.
  • Lead proposal preparation efforts and provide input on scope and budget.
  • Foster professional relationships with client counterparts and market the Engineering Team's expertise to clients.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university and 10 years of Civil Engineering experience with a focus on steel and concrete structural design
  • 2+ Years of experience leading employees
  • Prefer experience in commercial nuclear, power generation or Department of Energy projects
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (or proof of near term plan to obtain)
  • Required to travel up to 20 - 25% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project and/or marketing meetings. Activities at client sites may require pre-job briefs and walkdowns at the site, including occasional climbing
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with team, clients, management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail
  • Strong coordination and team-building skills; demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams. Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust level of support/oversight as appropriate
  • Ability to motivate team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON's Defining Excellence fundamentals
  • Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client-specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities
  • Must be a US Citizen

Salary:

The salary range for this full-time position is $120,000-175,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
