Job Description

The Supply Optimization Analyst is responsible for improving the company's purchasing by enhancing daily supply decisions. This includes, but is not limited to, supply and freight optimization, dispatching, TABS maintenance, utilization of optimization software, and analytics.

Responsibilities

Optimization

  • Responsible for sourcing decisions, dispatching, and allocation maintenance with concentration on a certain region while also offering nationwide support. This includes the optimization of various buying options, daily utilization of optimization software, and maintaining product allocations through TABS
  • Field carrier partner phone calls and emails to provide loading direction and support in an efficient and professional manner
  • Collaborate with sales to support company growth by identifying and facilitating opportunities to sell excess supply
  • Negotiate with suppliers for day deal supply options to improve cost


Analysis

  • Review daily output of optimization system with focus on achieving the lowest daily cost of fuel and freight; act on findings
  • Examine detailed optimization tracking data to identify areas for supply improvement
  • Evaluate contract compliance, both buy and sell side, to ensure commitments are met


Other Duties as Assigned

  • Earhart Ohio division only duties:
    • Assist dispatch function, providing backup support for tank monitor management, route planning, and inbound driver call management
    • Provide business systems support, including but not limited to, account setup, truck and route setup, and driver setup
    • Execute trades throughout brokers and suppliers to hedge positions using futures, options, or swap contracts
    • Maintain a continuously balanced inventory portfolio; perform regular Mark to Market review of entire inventory position

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred


Knowledge & Experience

  • Prior experience in dispatch, supply, and/or purchasing preferred
  • Petroleum or logistics experienced preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access required
  • Proficiency using vlookups and pivot tables in Excel required

Work Environment

  • 40-hour on-site work week
