We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Governance Engineer to join the Cloud Governance team at Dematic. As a Cloud Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to ensure effective and secure management of our cloud infrastructure and services. Reporting to the Director of Cloud Governance, your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to optimize the utilization, security, and compliance of our cloud resources.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $82,000-$166,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

    Tasks and Qualifications:

    This is What You Will do in This Role:

    • Develop and implement cloud governance strategies and frameworks to guide the efficient and secure utilization of cloud resources across the Dematic Global Products & Solutions organization.
    • Establish policies, procedures, and standards for cloud services, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, compliance requirements, and internal objectives.
    • Collaborate closely with Dematic IT to ensure the integration of cloud governance practices with overall IT governance processes, promoting consistency and alignment.
    • Design and implement processes for cloud resource provisioning, monitoring, and optimization to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
    • Identify and mitigate cloud security risks, working closely with the information security team to establish and enforce security controls, incident response procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
    • Maintain relationships with cloud service providers, staying updated on their offerings, pricing models, and security features to inform decision-making and ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
    • Participate in cloud governance audits and assessments, identify areas for improvement, and drive the implementation of corrective actions.
    • Provide guidance and training to employees on cloud governance policies, best practices, and procedures.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to cloud governance, and recommend adjustments to governance strategies as needed.
    • Collaborate with, Dematic IT, and Dematic Product and Development teams to drive organizational alignment and support, and ensure that cloud governance practices are well-integrated across relevant departments.

    What We are Looking For:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in cloud automation, cloud infrastructure management, or a related role, preferably within a SaaS environment.
    • Experience with developing automations leveraging cloud service provider API's using Python.
    • Experience with various database query scripting, including, BigQuery, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
    • Experience with creating internal API's that can be leveraged by CICD pipelines for data enrichment.
    • Experience with creating and maintaining Terraform state files to deploy cloud infrastructure.
    • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, technologies, and service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), with expertise in at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
    • Solid knowledge of cloud security principles, best practices, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement cloud governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
    • Experience in conducting cloud audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Relevant certifications such as Certified Google Cloud Engineer, Certified Google Cloud Architect, and related.
